The Energy Star rating changed from 14 to 14.5 seer, but this $1500 rebate requires 16 SEER for AC systems. Systems must meet ALL of the requirements such as for a heat pump it must be 15 SEER or greater AND 12.5 EER or greater AND 8.5 HSPF or greater. You can confirm the ARI rating on each system at the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration (AHRI) website.
